Section 72:No person shall dispense a specially restricted preparation unless it is apparent from such prescription that subsection (2) of section 74 and subsections (1) and (3) of section 70 have been complied with and that such prescription has been countersigned in terms of section 71.
Section 74: Subject to this section and section 75, no person shall supply any medicine listed in the Ninth Schedule otherwise than in accordance with the written prescription of a medical practitioner, dental practitioner or veterinary surgeon, as the case may be:
Provided that where it is not reasonably practicable for a prescriber to furnish to the supplier such written prescription immediately, the medicine may be supplied on the oral direction of the prescriber on one occasion only, and the prescriber shall furnish to the supplier a written prescription within seven days.
Section 75- Every person who dispenses a prescription preparation shall ensure that –
(a) the prescription is not dispensed more than once, unless the prescriber has
directed otherwise and in such event the prescriber’s lawful instructions shall be
complied with; and
(b) at the time of dispensing, or where a prescription preparation has been supplied in
terms of the proviso to subsection (1) of section 74 on the subsequent receipt of
the prescription, there is noted on the prescription the name and address of the
supplier and the date on which the prescription is dispensed.
Section 63 Compounding or dispensing of medicines and veterinary medicines
(1) Subject to this section, any person who compounds or dispenses a medicine or veterinary medicine shall do so according to—
(a) the pharmacopoeia prescribed in terms of subsection (2); or
(b) the directions in writing of a medical practitioner, dental practitioner or veterinary surgeon on whose prescription the medicine is prepared.
(2) The Minister, after consultation with the Authority, shall from time to time prescribe, by statutory instrument, the pharmacopoeia and any addendum or supplement thereto which shall be used for the purposes of subsection (1).

Section 29 Sale of specified medicines
(1) Subject to this section, no person shall sell any specified medicine—
(a) unless it is registered; and (b) if it is registered subject to any conditions, otherwise than in accordance with such conditions. […]
(3) Subsection (1) shall not apply in relation to the sale of a medicine compounded by a medical practitioner, pharmacist, dental practitioner or veterinary surgeon if that medicine—
(a) has not been advertised for sale in Zimbabwe; and
(b) does not contain any component the sale of which is prohibited by this Act; and
(c) is supplied for the treatment of a particular person or animal.

Records to be kept
Section 63. On the day on which a prescription preparation is supplied or dispensed or, if that is not reasonably practicable, on the business day next following that day, the supplier shall record in a manner acceptable to the Authority, a complete copy of the prescription.
Preservation of records
Section 64. Every person who dispenses any medicine shall keep or cause to be kept a record of such dispensing for a period of five years and shall preserve such record on the premises in which the dispensing takes place:
Provided that where the premises cease to be used or licensed such person shall make arrangements, acceptable to the Authority, for the preservation or destruction of such records.

Section 43 (3) Any person who contravenes the provisions of subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding level seven or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding two years or to both such fine and such imprisonment.
Section 63 (3) Any person who contravenes subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding level ten or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding one year or to both such fine and such imprisonment.
